Episode 19

Jon ran to the door when he heard the knocking. Throwing the door open, he exclaimed, "Zack! How's it going?"

"Eh, I've been better," Zack said.

"Come on in, and tell me all about it."

Zack slowly walked in. "Andrea hates me."

"I am sure that's an exaggeration!" Jon answered, "So, what happened?"

"I finally came out to Andrea, and she didn't take it too well," replied Zack.

"So your lesbian best friend is biphobic?"

"She says its not because I'm bisexual," explained Zack, "But rather because I've been lying to her since we met. We can't really be friends if I've kept a secret that big from her, she says."

"Just give her time to let the shock wear off. Then she'll be back and your friendship will be strong as ever!"

"I sure hope so," said Zack, "I miss her already."

"So, since you're out in the open now, what's your plan? Going to try to find you a nice guy to settle down with? Or perhaps a girl? Or just screw around for a while."

"I would love to find a guy to date," Zack said, "But I don't think I'll be able to find a guy who likes me."

Taking a deep breath, Jon said, "It may be easier than you think. You may already know a guy who loves you."

Episode 18

Robert stared into his coffee thoughtfully. He still had a half hour of accounting homework to do. Granted, it wasn't due until class on Friday, but once the week started he would have no time to work on it.

"What's on your mind babe?" His wife asked as she came into the room.

"Just thinking about my accounting homework. I don't really wanna do it, but today is the only day I will have to work on it."

"You could always do it while I am on my date tonight."

"That's true, Julie," Robert said, "When is Tiffany supposed to be picking you up?"

"In two hours. I'm about to start getting ready."

"Only two hours? You will never be ready in time!" Robert laughed.

"Ha ha, very funny, funny man. I will be in the bathroom if you need me."

"Of course I need you," Robert muttered under his breath after she started climbing the steps, "I am your husband after all. But between your job and your girlfriend, you never have much time for me anymore."

Turning back to his coffee, he took a sip of it.

"We have been drifting apart ever since you started dating Tiffany. When are you going to start giving your husband some attention again?"

Episode 17

Andrea looked at the caller id of her ringing phone. With a sigh, she answered it. "What do you want, Zack?"

"Hey, I was just calling to see how you were doing," Zack replied, "I know how hard Father's day is for you each year."

"Oh!" Andrea exclaimed, "You must be under the same misconception that I was under last week. You know, the misconception that we are friends!"

"Andrea, we are friends," Zack said.

"No, we aren't. And we never were. You know how I know that? Because friends don't keep secrets that big from each other!"

"You don't understand," Zack answered, "I know the biphobia that bisexuals face from the gay community. We had never discussed bisexuality before, so I didn't know how you would react. And let's face it, you didn't react that well."

"I didn't react well because you have been lying to me, not because you are bisexual!"

"Andrea, I-"

"For your information, something major happened this morning."

"Really?" Zack asked, "What happened?"

"That is something that I am only telling friends at this point," Andrea said, "And we are most certainly not friends right now!"

Before Zack could say anything else, Andrea hung up on him.

Episode 16

Jon looked at the older man sitting across from the table sipping on his coffee. Probably about fifteen years older.

"That was definitely a fun time," Jon said with a wink, "You put your shirt on inside out though."

"Oh, my bad," the man said in his thick British accent, and took his shirt off to flip it inside out.

"Hurry up and put your shirt back on," Jon said with a laugh, "Or I am going to want another round. And let me tell you, Phil, I just don't have time for that. I have a friend coming over."

"You usually don't schedule your booty calls this close together," Phil replied.

"It's not a booty call, although Zack and I do have booty calls from time to time."

"Oh, the famous Zack that has stolen your heart but has a girlfriend?" Phil asked.

"For your info, he no longer has a girlfriend. The said ex-girlfriend interrupted our last booty call by calling to break up with him."

"So have you told him your feelings yet?"

"He has no romantic interest in me," Jon said.

"You can't know that unless you tell him. Just as well though. I can't see you giving up this lifestyle."

Jon looked thoughtful as he replied, "Zack's the only person I'd give this lifestyle up for."

Episode 15

"Hey Jon, can I come over?" Zack asked into the phone.

"You need another booty call already?" Jon laughed, "We just had one yesterday evening during your roommate's Bible Study."

"No, not a booty call. I need someone to talk to."

Jon hesitated before saying, "I thought Andrea is who you went to talk about stuff."

"She's not speaking to me anymore."

"What happened?" Jon asked incredulously.

"That's what I wanted to speak to you about. Long story short, I came out last night and she feels like I've been lying to her for our entire friendship."

"Andrea always was one for drama," Jon replied, "Yeah, you can come over. I should be here all afternoon."

"Thanks Jon. I appreciate it!"

After hanging up, Zack noticed he had received a text message. He didn't recognize the number. It read: "Andrea needs you. Please call her."

"Who is this?" Zack texted back.

"It doesn't matter. What matters is that despite the the fight you two are having, she is having a rough morning and needs you."

"This morning?" Zack muttered to himself, "What could have happened this morning?"

Then it hit him like a ton of bricks. "It's Father's Day!"

Episode 14

Another Father's Day. Andrea really hated Father's Day. She hadn't heard from her dad since she blurted out to him that she was a lesbian on Father's Day when she was 16.

She wiped her eyes, trying to dry the fountain that just wouldn't stop. She had been so close to her dad before that day.

"And now he hates me," she muttered to her self.

The phone ringing startled Andrea. She didn't recognize the number. "Hello?"

"Hey, baby girl."

"Daddy?"

"What, no happy Father's Day for your old man?"

"Dad, we haven't spoken in years."

"I know, and I am sorry. It's my fault, and that's why I called. You're my daughter, and I shouldn't shun you regardless of who you may love."

"Dad, I don't know what to say."

"How about happy Father's Day?"

"Dad! You have missed so much over the last several years! You can't make up for that with one pathetic phone call!"

"Andrea, I know. I have been such a horrible father. And I want to make it up to you."

"Well dad, guess what? You can't. You screwed up big time, and you can't fix that!"

She hung up, and the sob storm started again.

Episode 13

"Is your friend going to be okay?" Brian asked Andrea after they got back to his house.

"As far as I am concerned, he is no longer my friend," Andrea replied, "Never was, if he was keeping a secret that big from me."

"Don't you remember when you were in the closet? Weren't you apprehensive about telling anyone at all?"

"But that was different! I didn't know anyone in the LGBT community that I could confide in! If I had, they would have known as soon as I had figured out that I was a lesbian!"

"He probably just didn't know how you felt about bisexuals, and whether or not you would accept him."

Andrea spun around to face him, "Why are you defending him? You don't even believe in bisexuality!"

"No, but I do believe in young men who are confused about their sexuality, and how much they need their BFFs while going through that."

Andrea just stared down at the ground. After a couple moments of silence, Brian said, "Feel free to take a look around. If you decide that you wanna stay, pick out an empty bedroom. I am going to go take a shower."

Note from the author: I am sorry that I missed posting an episode yesterday. Things come up sometimes, you know? I might try to post an extra episode later on tonight to make up for it. As always, if you like this series, I would encourage you to leave a comment. It motivates me to keep writing these episodes when I know people are reading them.

Episode 12

"There is a bisexual closet too, you know!" Zack said, visibly angry.

"What are you talking about?" Brian asked.

"There is so much prejudice against bisexuals in both the gay and straight communities that bisexuals find it easier to identify as either straight and gay!" Zack exclaimed, "I bet there are several of your gay friends who are actually bi, but are afraid to tell you because of your biphobia!"

"It sounds to me like someone just needs to come out of the closet already!" Brian retorted.

"Oh no," Andrea interjected, "Zack is 100% straight. In fact, he just broke up with his girlfriend!"

"No, Andrea, Brian is right," Zack said, "I need to come out of the closet. Andrea, your best friend is bisexual."

"Wh-Wh-What?" Andrea stuttered, dumbfounded, "You've been lying to me our entire friendship?"

"It's what bisexuals do best," Brian interjected, "And within ten years, he will be gay!"

Andrea looked like she was fighting back tears. "Over the last year, I have told you everything! I have been honest with you about everything. And then I find out you have been lying to me this entire time? How could you lie to me about something this big and claim to be my best friend?"

Episode 11

"So do you know what you are going to do about a place to stay?" Brian asked Andrea.

"Well, Zack is calling a friend tomorrow who runs an LGBT shelter. For tonight though, I do not know."

Brian looked thoughtful for a minute, "Well, I have a house here in town that I inherited from my parents. I can rent one of the rooms to you. I'll even give you the first month free since this move is unexpected."

"Why are you being so nice to me?" Andrea asked, "You're not an ax murderer are you?"

"No, I prefer to use a butcher knife," Brian laughed, "No, I'm just kidding. I just believe that the gays and lesbians need to stick together. We're in this fight together against homophobia."

"Hey, what about the bis?" Zack asked.

"Please," said Brian, "Bisexuals are just gays afraid to step the rest of the way out of the closet."

"I don't think we can say that of all bisexuals," Andrea said, "It's not our place to judge another person's orientation."

"I've known enough bisexuals to know they all come out as gay within ten years... Or go back in the closet as straight."

Episode 10

Chris was furious. How could Zack do this to him? They grew up together. Had been best friends in Middle School, and had remain good friends since. Zack knew how Chris felt about that type of people. Why would Zack bring one into his home, his sanctuary from all that wickedness?

Was Zack a homo? Chris wondered for the first time.

Chris' cell phone ringing broke him from his thoughts.

"Hey Pastor Roy," Chris answered the phone after checking the caller ID.

"I'm sorry I missed your call earlier. Is everything alright?"

"I am really struggling tonight," Chris said, "My roommate brought home a lesbian tonight. I now have suspicions that he might be gay too, now."

"And why is that making you struggle?" Pastor Roy asked.

Zack took a deep breath. "You know my past, Pastor. I cannot fall back into that wicked lifestyle. But thinking that Zack may be gay... It's really making me want to-"

"Take deep breaths, Zack," Pastor Roy said, "Just rebuke that evil spirit that is trying to make you backslide. Pray to God for strength!"
